Dear Teacher:
The apple industry is an important resource for all Nova Scotians. Economically, it brings millions of dollars into our province every year and provides jobs for thousands. Nutritionally, apples are a healthy and affordable snack food we can enjoy year-round.

Teachers across Nova Scotia have been using the "Teachers Apple Resource Kit" and "All About Apples" kits for teaching students about apples. We are now pleased to offer an electronic version of these kits through the new Nova Scotia Fruit Growers' Association Web site. The kits have been modified slightly, and we've tried to add new, exciting apple learning activities to make students' learning experience more relevant and enjoyable.

The "Teachers Apple Resource Kit" is divided into two levels - Primary to Grade 4 and Grade 5 to Grade 8. Both kits include information on various subject areas, including social studies, math, and arts and crafts. Children will improve their history, geography, science, and writing skills while learning about apples. All material in this kit may be copied for classroom use.
